CONFIGURE APPLE MAIL

This explains how you configure your account settings in the e-mail client Apple Mail v.4 for MacOS X.

If you have earlier or later versions of Apple Mail, or if you use Apple Mail on an iPhone, details of the settings in the program may vary.


  • Start Apple Mail
  • Open Preferences from the menu ( Mail -> Preferences... )
  • Create an account if not yet done by clicking '+' in the left bottom corner and answer all the questions.
  • The Account Information should look like that (type your address and name, of course):
  • The Advanced options might look like that:
  • Open mail server dialog (pop-up menu: Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) -> Add Server...)
  • You will see the window like below. Fill the requested fields (type your user name) and click OK:
