SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

The information on this page is out of date

Starting from 1 January 2016, Nordita is administratively under Stockholm University, and we should use the computing resources of SU rather than those of KTH. The information on this page will be updated accordingly shortly. Meantime, if you have questions just ask Hans Mühlen.

Software Licenses

Since Nordita is organized as a part of KTH, Nordita staff can benefit from several site licenses negotiated by KTH. Programs covered by these licenses may be installed without any extra cost for Nordita on office computers and laptops (ome may also be installed on home computers).

For other software there are individual licenses that may be purchased for a considerably reduced price (typically one tenth of the list price).

Software covered by KTH site licenses or multi-user licenses purchased by Nordita include:

  • Core software by Microsoft, e.g. Windows (workstation, only upgrades), Microsoft Office, Visual Studio
  • Mathematica
  • Maple
  • Matlab
  • Software by Borland, e.g. Delphi, C++ Builder, Interbase

Software for which we can purchase multi-user licenses, if there is demand for it, include

  • LabView
  • MathCad
  • Multiphysics/Femlab

Software for which we can purchase cheap individual licenses, if there is demand for it, include:

  • Software by Adobe, e.g. Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Creative Suite
  • Software by Apple, e.g. iLife, iWork (includes Keynote)
  • Additional software by Microsoft, e.g. Windows Server

For installation you need an installation key. Software with individual licenses also need to be registered with someone who will pay the invoice. For any questions relating to installation and purchase of licensed software, please contact:
