MEX EXTENSION

In most offices at Nordita there is a fixed-line telephone with an assigned telephone number starting with 5537 followed by a four-digit extension (such as 5537 8881 for Lárus). Two or more people sharing an office will also have to share the phone number.

If you are the single user of the phone number and if you have a mobile phone, you might want to want your Nordita phone number to be redirected to your mobile phone instead of to the phone in your office. Stockholm University, who provide telephony for AlbaNova/Nordita, offer this service called Mobile Extension (MEX).

See Support for MEX Extension (in Swedish) for more information on how to use a MEX-enabled mobile phone. Some of the features are summarized below.

If you have any questions regarding the MEX Extension, please contact Anne Jifält.

Calling and Texting to your Mobile

Even after the mobile phone has been connected to the MEX service it will keep the mobile phone number associated with the mobile subscription. So one can call to the phone either with the mobile number or with the Nordita work number.

However, text messages can only be sent to the mobile number of the unit.
