Professor Risto Nieminen, Dean of the School of Science at Aalto University, was Director of Nordita in 2007-2008. On October 9, he received an award of honour of € 30 000 from the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation in recognition of his important work in scientific research in the fields of nanoscience and technology and computational modelling of material physics, and his diverse and influential role in the Finnish science community.
