Congratulations to George Kavoulakis, who has been awarded an EU fellowship to work at Nordita for a further two years.
Three prominent workers in the area of Bose-Einstein condensation and related areas, Yuri Kagan (Moscow), Lev Pitaevskii (Moscow and Haifa), and T.-L. (Jason) Ho (Ohio State) will participate in the Landau meeting, August 24-29, 1998, and there is a strong possibility that they will be at Nordita for periods other than that of the conference. Also Lene Hau (Cambridge) will be at Nordita from July 25 until August 1, and she will lecture in the Master Class for undergraduate students.
The group working on theory at Nordita and the Ørsted Laboratory has set up a home page, where their articles may be found. Its address is http://ntserv.fys.ku.dk/bose/
Concetta Minniti, who is a Ph. D. student working with Sandro Stringari's group in Trento, is visiting the group in Copenhagen until late August.
If you would like more information about activities in this field, contact Chris Pethick (pethick@nordita.dk).
Deadline for applications is June 15, 1998, at noon. This announcement is an extract of the full legal announcement. The latter must be followed and can be found on the Institute home page http://www.nbi.dk/NBIfAFG/ or obtained from the Institute Director, Professor Ole Hansen, Niels Bohr Institute for Astronomy, Physics and Geophysics, Blegdamsvej 17, DK 2100 Copenhagen Ø, Denmark (E-mail: oleh@nbi.dk). Information on the Risø National Laboratory Department can be obtained on the department's home page http://www.risoe.dk/fys/, where the full announcement is also posted.

Nordic Graduate Program
7 - 18 September 1998, Nordita/ NBI/TAC
For young students close to getting their undergraduate degree, but have not
yet started a PhD program. The graduate program covers general physics in the
Copenhagen area and would be valuable for choosing the topic for pursuing their
studies. More information can be found on http://www.nordita.dk/~nordgrad/ or
Nordita's home page. Deadline is June 15 and Nordita covers expenses.
The fields are listed after the names: AP, astrophysics;
C, Complex Systems & Chaos; NP, nuclear physics;
HE, high energy physics; CM, condensed matter physics.
If you are interested in having any of these people visit your institute,
please contact NORDITA.
