Stockholm University is a member of SWAMID, the Swedish Academic Identity Federation, and therefore needs to follow their rules for the secure handling of computing accounts. One mechanism is assigning assurance levels (AL) to computing accounts. This is basically an indication of how certain the account issuer (Stockholm University) is who the account actually belongs to.
Starting 25 May 2020, Stockholm University provides two SWAMID Assurance Levels, AL1 (which is based on information provided by the account user themselves) and AL2 (where at some point an identity check has been made).
There are only a few computing services at Stockholm University where your account's assurance level makes a difference. One is when you need to activate eduroam for your account, or change your eduroam password.
You should first check if your SU account has an assurance level.
If you need to obtain an assurance level AL1 for your account, just follow the instructions below.
If you think you need an assurance level AL2 you first have to create an eduID account. Follow these instructions on how to create an eduID account on the SU site.
Read more about how to get an assurance level for your SU account.

What you need to do is to activate your SU computing account. As a newcomer to Nordita and SU you need to do this anyway, to activate your e-mail. If you activated your account before the 25 May 2020 you need to do this once again if you want to get an assurance level assigned to your account.
Account (re)activation requires a one-time code for authentication. This consists of an identity (like a username) and a secret (like a password) that you need to enter to start the process. It is really only valid once, and you can forget about it once you have completed the procedure.
Write a mail to info@nordita.org and ask for a one-time code.
The next step is to re-activate your account. As part of this process you need to change your account password.

It is now time to see if your account has been assigned an assurance level:

If anytime you want to change your SU account password, proceed as follows. (This has nothing to do with setting the assurance level of your account.)
At Stockholm University a new password must be at least 10 characters long, the same character may occur no more than 3 times, and must contain both upper and lower case letters and numbers. The password must not be a name, place name, course name, telephone number, as word that can be found in a dictionary, be a password that you have already used befor or contain the Swedish letters å, ä, ö.
